Since founding Sports Coaching Group in July 2011 I have enjoyed seeing the company grow both in terms of children we are teaching and in terms of staff numbers, I enjoy playing Cricket for Sandbach Cricket Club during the summer and Hockey for Sandbach Hockey Club during the winter. I am the proud owner of a dog and three cats and I am a huge England Cricket fan and enjoy watching them play as much as possible.
Before becoming the co-founder of Sports Coaching Group in July 2011, Sport had and still has a significant influence on my life. I am a keen Cricket and Hockey player I play for Elworth Cricket Club and Crewe Vagrants HC respectively. Outside of sport I am a bit of a foody and I love any excuse to eat out, particularly on a Sunday lunch time! I am incredibly lucky to have been able to gain so much through sport both on the field but more importantly with friends and now work off it. Now all I want to do is to help others gain as much as I have through different sports.
Having worked at Sports Coaching Group for over 3 years now I am the lead Dance teacher at Sports Coaching Group and I love every second of it. I trained in classical dance from a young age and studied Contemporary Dance throughout my time at school, this lead up to my BA hons Degree in Dance at MMU Cheshire. I still pursue my love of dance outside of work, performing with YSD Theatre School and CurtainCall Productions, recently with a role in “Grease The Musical”.
I first started playing sport at 3, this being Football at Crewe Alex. I played for a successful junior team called Red Raiders until I was 16, after 4 Football tours for South Cheshire, 1 to Hungary and 2 to Holland, one reaching the semi final and the final tour to Celsy. I then joined Sandbach United where I still play at under 21’s level.
I started coaching at the age of 14 at Sandbach United Football Club with 2 successful under 7’s teams. Where I received the junior clubman of the year in 2010.
At school I played Rugby up to year 11, I also played school Football, Cricket and represented the school at Athletics and Swimming. Which culminated in me becoming the Ward house captain in my final year of 6th form.
Cricket is now my main sport, coaching and playing since I was 12 at Sandbach Cricket Club. In which I achieved junior clubman of the year at 16.
I am a very sporty person and always have been. My passion is with cricket during the summer and football during the colder months. In the office I am known as Dr Doolittle because I have so many pets. Since joining Sports Coaching Group I have thoroughly enjoyed helping children reach their potential and achieving things they couldn’t do before.
Sport has always been a big part of my life, whether its coaching, playing or watching. Hockey is my main sport, playing for Crewe Vagrants HC and having represented my school, county and region at all junior levels. I studied Sport, Physical Education and coaching science at the University of Birmingham, captaining the 3rd XI hockey team and also working as a sports coach in local schools during my time in Birmingham. Since returning from university working with Sports Coaching Group allowed me to spread my enthusiasm for all sports in a variety of schools.
I have been working for Sports Coaching Group since September 2016, I am level 3 coach in Primary School Sport and Physical Education. I also play for Elworth Cricket Club where I play for the 1st team. This job has helped me with my confidence and helped me learn new ways of communicating with both children and adults.
I am a relatively new member of the team, joining in September 2016. I have been a team player in many sports at Sandbach High School and Sixth Form College such as Football, Hockey, Rounders, Netball and Athletics. I played for Triton Hockey Club for several years and Cheshire U16’s. For the last 2 years I have been concentrating on completing my A Levels and I am now eager to get back into sport and learn as much as I can so that I can pass my skills onto younger children. I have a new rescue dog called Marley who is a 2 year old Springer Spaniel and I love taking him on walks. I am a keen skier and have travelled to Austria, Italy and Andorra.
I either play or watch football in my spare time, it has been a big part of my life. I used to play at a high level, Stoke City for 2 years and Port Vale for 5 years. I also like to spend time with my dog Clio, she’s a french bulldog, and like to go out with my friends of a weekend. I’m looking forward to coaching with SCNW as it is very suited to what I want to achieve and relates to my personal skills so this will be a good opportunity to further my experience.
Sports has always played a part in my life, mainly Football. From a young age I was playing in a professional environment at Nantwich Town FC, where I played from the age of 7-15 years old. Having completed work experience with SCNW in the past I can safely say I’m in the right place at the right time and look forward to further improving my coaching knowledge and confidence. Other interests away from sports including watching like music at gigs and festivals.
